Why do I need to install MobiolaTM Web Camera client application to my phone?
Unless you install client part to your phone you won't be able to establish video streaming connection between the phone and PC part of the MobiolaTM Web Camera application.
Please, see the following help page to get detailed explanation on installation process of the phone part of the MobiolaTM Web Camera applicationon.
What should I do, if there is no "COMx (Bluetooth)" item in a drop-down list "Select COM port"?
If you do not have word (Bluetooth) next to one of you COM ports in the drop down list, you will not be able to get your connection working for web camera application.
Please see Bluetooth Configuration page for instructions on fixing this problem
Is there any difference among COM ports and does it make a sense which COM port to select for establishing connection?
Sometimes there occur unexpected problems when trying to use COM port as a Bluetooth Serial port. It concerns with a too great amount of ports "in use" but not really in use due to previous installations of other Bluetooth devices and additional modems.
When a modem that creates a virtual COM port is installed, it will normally be assigned the next unused COM port. If the modem is removed, or if the installation is not completely successful, the COM port assigned with that installation may continue to be identified as 'in use' by Windows, even though it really isn't in use. Each subsequent modem installation removes another COM port from being available.
Check it up at Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device manager. Expand the "Ports" listing, and double-click your
Communications Port (normally COM1).
Click on the Port Settings tab, then click the Advanced...
button and select the COM Port Number drop down:

In this drop down list select a COM port that shows 'in use', but is not really in use.
Click OK, and continue past warning about using a used port.
Repeat for each false in use port.
Then, repeat and change the port back to original (COM1) setting.
Afterwards you can configure the connection settings of MobiolaTM Web Camera application as it is described in Bluetooth Configuration page paragraph.
Can I initiate connection with MobiolaTM Web Camera application on the phone from PC?
Unfortunately, you cannot do it.
You can initiate video connection only from MobiolaTM Web Camera client application on your phone.
What should I do if I can not establish connection between MobiolaTM Web Camera client application and PC?
Use check list and connection instruction on Connection page to get them connected
What does the "Not Ready" status in the "Video" tab mean?
If the COM port you have selected is currently used by any other application on your PC, or it is not used by the Bluetooth software, then "Not Ready " message in "Video" tab of the application window will be displayed.

Check your Status bar: in this case "Status" cell should be also displaying "Not Ready " status and WebCam tray icon should be crossed by the red line:

In this case you have to select other port with (Bluetooth) next to COMxx from the drop-down list in the "Settings" tab or check your Bluetooth configuration. Otherwise, you won't be able to establish connection with your phone.
If your OS is MS Windows XP SP2 or higher, then this issue may be caused by selecting an incorect type of COM port. It seems that you have created an Outgoing port which connects to the phone when the PC MobiolaTM program bounds to it. But you have to create an Incoming port which doesn't do this. Please read this page for step-by-step guidance in COM port configuring (for MS Windows XP SP2 or higher).
What does the "Ready" status in the "Video" tab mean?
If correct COM port was selected then you should have status "Ready" in status bar and inside the video caption window:

If you have status "Ready", port with (Bluetooth) next to COMx selected and WebCam tray icon is not crossed by the red line:

then you can establish connection between your phone client and PC application
I have a "Ready" status in the "Video" tab, but I am not able to establish connection with PC. Why?
You will be able to establish connection if one of the items in the COM port drop-down list in "Settings" tab of the MobiolaTM Web Camera application, which looks like "COMx (Bluetooth)", is selected.
Please see following explanation for COM Port Selection process.
What am I to do if "Unable to connect" message is launched on my phone when trying to establish connection with PC?

This message appears when MobiolaTM Web Camera client app tries to connect via an engaged Bluetooth and fails. It means that the Bluetooth COM port is already used by other application.
Probably your NOKIA PC Suite is running. Please, close all applications that may use Bluetooth connection and then restart the MobiolaTM Web Camera application.
In the following paragraph we explain how to release COM ports engaged by NOKIA PC Suite.
Click on Get connected! -> Bluetooth Connection -> {Select the stack} -> Unpair; and unpair ALL devices in the list:
When you finish with unpairing procedure you should have "No phones connected" text in the main window of NOKIA PC Suite:

Then click "Manage collection", clear the "Bluetooth" check box and save this configuration:
It means that neither wireless devices, nor COM ports are used by NOKIA PC Suite. Please, also see this paragraph to get detailed information on the mechanism of releasing COM ports, which are probably used by some applications.
How can I fix video caption if it does not show proper picture on both: "Video" tab and my phone's screen?
Check, if the MobiolaTM Web Camera tray icon is in "Connected" state:
Make sure that the camera lens on you phone is not covered by some object and not directed to the sun or other source of light.
You will not get high-quality picture if there is not enough light.
If your camera is in "Static" state, you can move Contrast and Brightness slider controls to their medium position and Compression control to its leftmost position.
To improve the quality of the picture, select "High" state of "Quality" control. In this case you will get lower frame per second ratio.
Set the "Bit per second" index of the COM port you are using to its maximum value. (Location of this setting depends on your Operating System. We recommend to search it in Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Ports). The rate should be at least 115200 bps.
What is the role of "Encoding" control?
There are two encodings available on client and PC applications: Static and Motion.
Static encoding is doing compression of each frame separately before sending it to the PC. This encoding works best if you need higher picture quality or if there is a lot of action on the screen during your video capture. When you use Static encoding, you can specify Quality, Contrast and Brightness to emprove your shots.
Motion encoding is sending to PC only part of the frame which is different from previous frame. This encoding works best for video capture where there is not many moving parts on the screen, for example, during the video chat.
Therefore in Static mode frames per second (FPS) rate is almost constant, while in Motion state it varies depending on the amount of frame to frame changes in the captured image.
What do the fields in the Status Bar of main window mean?
FPS field– frames-per-second rate will be displayed when live video caption from the camera is received.
Stream field – displays transfer rate (kilobyte-per-second) of the video stream from the camera;
Status field – connection status is displayed:
‘Not Ready ' mode – if a wrong COM-port has been selected or Bluetooth Sofware have not been configured (please, see COM Port Selection page for guidance)
‘Ready' mode – if there is not current connection with a phone application but PC side is ready to accept it
‘Connected' mode – if connection with a phone has been established
Error cell – counter for dropped frames when for example there is not enough bandwidth or phone and PC are far apart or there is obstacle (wall) between them..
How can I "bring to life" the app if it has hung up? How to avoid this problem in future?
If your Operating System is not MS Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher, please, launch "My Bluetooth Services" page (My Bluetooth Places-> ->View My Bluetooth Services), right-click on the Serial port icon and select "Properties". Make sure that in the "COM port" drop-down list a port used by MobiolaTM Web Camera application is selected. Then remove the check box "Secure Connection", if it was activated:
Unfortunately, this feature is unavailable in MS Windows XP Service Pack 2 and next versions.
